Sr. Buyer will serve as mentor for new hires and will take ownership of a key department metric.Do YOU Possess These Skills and Attributes?General knowledge of principles and concepts of PurchasingAbility to lead others, be approachable and unify team members to common goalExpertise in ERP/ DRP systemsAbility to identify opportunities and implement solutionsAbility to communicate effectively; negotiation skills a plusMicrosoft Suite experience with higher level Excel usageProblem solver, adaptable, and agile thinkerAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and/or projectsAttention to detail and outstanding organizational skillsDo These Responsibilities Interest YOU?Effectively maintains stock inventories for all assigned vendors by maintaining yearly fill rate goals.Use DRP system daily to place orders, transfer and review MTD portals; both general and customer and/or TR specific portals.Increase product turns to meet company objectives.Monitor purchase orders by reviewing PO before submitting to Vendor, maintaining accurate delivery dates on all PO's. Follow up on PO's with past due delivery dates and expedite as required.Consistently processes vendor returns (overstock/slow moving inventory) to meet goals for each DC.Maintain Binwork requests for assigned vendors - answer and close out within 24 hours. If request can't be closed for any reason, enter issue in system. Follow up on these requests daily - noting any changes in status.Approve A/P discrepancies daily.Once a month accurately review reports that help guide whether items should be moved from stock to non-stock and vise-versa.Anticipate product trends by working with marketing to decide which new products to stock and which to make non-stock because of a reduction sales.Complete weekly reports.Be proactive to flyers and publications. Items in flyers should be reviewed to determine if they should be made stock in all DC's before the publication starts.Check buyer queue regularly to manage work flow.Monitor/process work orders to ensure items are created in a timely manner.Attend training classes for assigned vendors as well as continuous improvement training, which will assist in performance of job functions.Provides clear communication to both internal and external associates and customers.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standards to support the efficient operations of the department and companyDo YOU Meet These Requirements?This is not a remote role.
