This enrollment role does not prioritize volume. It exists to uphold standards. Alpha is developing one of the most ambitious educational models in existence. Our campuses integrate rigorous academic programs, technology-enabled learning, and elevated standards for both students and staff. Students routinely learn at rates exceeding national benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are redesigned to support depth, independence, and the development of real-world competencies. The model delivers results, but its success depends on enrolling the right families. That responsibility falls to you. You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus, starting with the initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a role defined by handoffs. You own how families perceive us, how well they grasp the model, and whether enrollment decisions are grounded in genuine alignment. You will evaluate fit, facilitate informed conversations, and recommend against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers; the objective is to ensure alignment.
We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside traditional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership organizations, or owner-operators who have directly managed high-value client relationships from start to finish. What matters most is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with sound judgment, clarity, and consistent follow-through. This is a full-time, salaried, in-person position. We are hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation support is available.
What You Will Be Doing
- Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through onboarding.
- Facilitating needs-assessment conversations to evaluate alignment before offering solutions or recommending next steps.
- Overseeing 20+ active family relationships simultaneously across various stages of the enrollment journey, with full visibility into status and follow-up cadence.
- Guiding campus tours, shadow experiences, and decision-making conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the families for whom the model is designed.
- Keeping CRM and enrollment records (HubSpot and SIS) current and accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and sustained service excellence.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Employing transactional or high-pressure sales methods.
- Enrolling families who lack alignment purely to meet a target.
- Overseeing a large team or working within complex approval hierarchies.
- Distributing ownership of the family experience across multiple functions.
- Operating remotely. This role is intentionally campus-based.
Head Of Admissions Key Responsibilities
Execute and own a high-trust, high-selectivity enrollment process that attracts the right families while safeguarding the integrity and performance of the Alpha model.
Basic Requirements
- 3+ years providing premium, personalized service in settings where service quality directly shapes brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated services).
- Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial contact through onboarding.
- Experience managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships concurrently at varying stages, supported by a clear tracking and prioritization system.
- Capacity to offer specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your product or service due to misalignment.
- Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or sophisticated clients.
- Willingness to live in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following markets: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience in selective private school admissions or enrollment in competitive programs.
- Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest services, or executive-level support functions.
- Experience designing or refining enrollment processes, standard operating procedures, or service standards.
- Comfort leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
