What your day looks like

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Drive seniors to appointments and social activities
• Assist with bathing and grooming
• Provide thoughtful incontinence care management
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Prepare healthy meals
• Offer medication reminders to prevent hospital readmissions
• Ensure safety with memory care support
• Assist with physical therapy exercises

HHAs may work under the direction of a care manager or registered nurse to provide non-medical care that supports a client's health plan. That includes medication reminders (not administration), monitoring vitals like blood pressure and pulse, helping with mobility and exercises, and noting changes in the client's condition for the nurse to follow up. The clinical structure is there, but the day is centered around the home.
