Industrial Electrical Technician (Load Bank Systems)

Job Title Power & HVAC Load Bank Technician, Level 1 Responsibilities Maintains and repairs small load banks, resistor racks on large load banks, power distribution items, trailers, and low voltage cables. Diagnoses complex equipment problems while following all safety rules. Ensures equipment is in good working order for rental customers, with zero downtime and using cost‑effective methods. Acts as a technical consultant and oversees major repairs, dismantles and rebuilds equipment, fabricates parts as needed, and diagnoses mechanical equipment problems as required. Operate basic and advanced hand tools, metering tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and shop tools Make ready and receive low and medium voltage cables, all AC & DC load banks, all generators, power distribution items, transformers, and trailers Troubleshoot and repair small load banks, resistor racks on large load banks, power distribution items, trailers, and low voltage cables Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime Perform safety inspections on equipment Maintain a clean and safe shop work environment Provide training and mentoring to other mechanics engaged in equipment repairs or maintenance Assess time and cost of repairs Specialize in specific types of small equipment in large profit centers Perform other duties assigned by the manager Attend all training and manufacturing training as directed Adhere to all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements Attend and participate in all profit center meetings Load bank testing Electrical testing Power generation Generators (diesel/backup) UPS systems Switchgear Preventive maintenance Commissioning / startup Troubleshooting electrical systems Field service Travel Entry-level Hands-on / mechanical aptitude
