About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in specialty License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in MICU and/or SICU Description: Must possess independent and competent ability to work with complex, high acuity medical and trauma/neuro/surgical ICU patients. This is not an entry level RN position. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with trauma level I is required and level II is preferred. Patient ratios are typically 2:1. Will float primarily within the Critical Care Division as needed. Weekends will vary based on the needs of the unit. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 26 patients with 38 beds available. Special procedures include managing comprehensive medical conditions and surgical/trauma/neurosurgical cases. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. The ICU department includes a medical ICU and a surgical/trauma/neurosurgical ICU. Candidates must be proficient in various skills including ventilator management, central line care, and emergency medications. The role requires knowledge of advanced monitoring techniques and care for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. Must be able to manage patient care effectively in a high-stress environment. Strong critical thinking and communication skills are essential for this position. willingness to float as needed based on unit census demands is required. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs.
