Job Summary Strong staffing support when it matters most. As a Registered Nurse at St. David's Medical Center, you will coordinate and deliver patient‑centered care, advocate for patients and families, and support departmental performance through compassionate care and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record timely and thoroughly. Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and resolve them proactively. Teach patients, families, or caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding. Teach patients, families, or caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes; prepare them for future self‑management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date. NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) credential. Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Preferred: 1+ years of ED experience.
