We're looking to expand our team across the board.York Space Systems is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to support operational activities at our customer Operations Center (OC) in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Staff will be assigned to provide 24/7 operational support to SDA's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Transport Layer. The PWSA Transport Layer will provide multi-band global communications access and persistent encrypted connectivity for warfighter missions. Staff will be required to work shifts and weekends and be on-site at the government customer facilities. Staff will be working in a highly dynamic environment with multiple government customers and partner organizations to provide critical warfighter capabilities.ResponsibilitiesPerform on-console tasks for real-time operations and anomaly investigations for multiple missionsDevelop and execute operational documentation, including procedures, anomaly documentation, and information filesRespond to anomalies - hardware and software - for both ground and space assetsMonitor health and safety of space and ground segments by trending and monitoring telemetryParticipate in mission rehearsals, launch support activities, and anomaly response exercisesWork with engineering subject matter experts and Mission Operations personnel to plan and execute mission objectives ensuring contractual commitmentsSupport mission integration into the operations centerSupport Mission Planning activities for the PWSA constellationRequired QualificationsUp to 6 months of on-site training at our headquarters in Greenwood Village, CO0-6 years of experience in an applicable engineering fieldAbility to quickly learn operational documentation, software, and hardware designFamiliarity with PythonExcellent organization and communication skillsAbility to work well in both a team environment and executing individual tasksAbility to regularly work off hours, weekends and holidays; shift work requiredActive Security Clearance – SECRETPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbital dynamics, and ground systemsFamiliarity with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint or other project management toolsExperience with the following: Telemetry analysis and trendingSpace situational awarenessFlight and ground softwareNetwork administrationData managementGeneral familiarity with current cybersecurity best practicesTS/SCI Security ClearanceBS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field (or equivalent experience)Benefits100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (subject to spousal surcharge).Company holidays, floating holidays, and sick time.Unlimited PTO.Generous 401(k) match.
