CAD Designer

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models for mechanical enclosures, optical assemblies, and precision mechanisms.
• Design packaging solutions for electronics, thermal systems, and novel materials across various platforms, including aerospace and maritime environments.
• Coordinate the fabrication, alignment, and environmental testing of prototype components.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet structural, thermal, and operational requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance (an interim clearance is acceptable to start).
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design using CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA).
• Proven experience designing complex mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and mechanisms.
• Familiarity with standard fabrication techniques, including machining and sheet metal manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of structural and thermal analysis principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized experience in opto-mechanical design and EO/IR (electro-optical/infrared) systems.
• Familiarity with military standards (mil-specs) and ruggedized components.
• Experience planning and executing system performance and environmental tests.
