Data Architect

Role Overview: This role is centered around comprehensive data management, encompassing strategy, transformation, integration, modeling, and governance. The individual will be instrumental in applying data strategy principles, developing robust data pipelines, and ensuring data quality. A significant part of the role involves designing and evaluating conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including data warehouses and data marts, while also contributing to code development and problem-solving through analytics. Key Responsibilities: Understand, articulate, and apply defined data strategy principles to business problems. Extract data from identified databases, create data pipelines, and transform data into relevant structures. Develop knowledge of current analytics trends and identify suitable data sources. Perform initial data quality checks and support the understanding of requirements and service level agreements. Analyze complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to data models. Develop Logical and Physical Data Models, including data warehouse and data mart designs. Define relational tables, primary/foreign keys, and stored procedures to create data model structures. Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. Develop efficient data flows and analyze data-related system integration challenges. Write code to develop required solutions and application features, leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. Create test cases, proofs of concept, and perform software testing before deploying to production servers. Contribute to code documentation, maintain playbooks, and provide timely progress updates. Translate business problems into data-related or mathematical solutions, identifying appropriate methods like analytics or big data analytics. Provide recommendations to business stakeholders, develop business cases, and translate business requirements into projects aligned with strategy. Establish, modify, and document data governance projects and recommendations, implementing practices in partnership with stakeholders. Interpret company and regulatory policies on data and educate others on data governance processes. Required Skills: Understanding and application of data strategy principles. Proficiency in data extraction, data pipeline development, and data transformation techniques. Knowledge of current analytics trends. Experience with requirements prioritization, service level agreement understanding, and data source identification. Ability to perform data quality validation and checks. Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including data warehouse and data mart design. Strong skills in relational database design, primary/foreign key design, and stored procedures. Capability in data flow design and optimization, along with data-related system integration analysis and solutioning. Proficiency in code development, test case creation, proof of concept development, software testing, and production deployment. Experience with code documentation and playbook maintenance. Ability to translate business problems into data-related or mathematical solutions, utilizing analytics, big data analytics, and automation. Strong business acumen for stakeholder recommendations, business case development, and strategic alignment of projects.
