Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy for multiple Payment Intelligence experiences with emphasis on quality and performance.
- Establish engineering standards, tooling, and processes that support high-quality software delivery at scale.
- Partner with major merchants to co-build payment-centric intelligence products.
- Collaborate with product, design, ML, and cross-functional engineering teams to ship software.
- Contribute hands-on across infrastructure, foundational systems, frontend, APIs, and ML-adjacent work.
- Lead projects at a high level while contributing directly to technical solutions when needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a strategic technical leadership role.
- Experience leading engineering teams working on distributed systems, API design, and user-facing products.
- Proven ability to deliver pragmatic solutions that accelerate business growth.
- Strong cross-team, cross-organization, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with payment systems and/or fraud detection.
- Preferred: familiarity with production ML systems, including model serving, training pipelines, observability, and evaluation.
- Preferred: experience building products from 0 to 1 and taking them into production.
- Preferred: experience with a range of software languages and frameworks, including the stated stack.
- Preferred: ability to make technical decisions amid ambiguity and adapt as constraints change.
