Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position Objective/Description The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for generating customer invoices, applying payments, managing collections, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records. This position ensures timely and accurate processing of receivables and contributes to the overall financial health of the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Generate customer invoices and credit memos; ensure billing accuracy Process incoming payments and allocate them to the appropriate accounts Contact customers via phone, email, or mail regarding outstanding invoices Research and resolve billing or payment discrepancies Collaborate with the sales team to address invoice disputes and ensure accurate billing Prepare aging reports and update management on overdue accounts Provide support to other Accounts Receivable staff as needed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload Open to change and receptive to learning new skills Physical Demands Frequently required to sit and use hands and fingers for computer input Regular use of office equipment such as computer, phone, copier, and calculator Occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 10 pounds Visual acuity required for close detail work and screen use Education / Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in accounts receivable preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Work Environment Work is predominately indoors within a generally quiet to moderately noisy office setting. A significant amount of time is spent sitting and working on a computer. Although the position follows regular business hours, occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
