Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Procurement Specialist & Operation Support plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless acquisition of goods and services essential for manufacturing operations within the company. The Procurement & Operations Support Specialist is responsible for managing purchasing activities, inventory control, vendor coordination, and operational support. This role ensures timely procurement of goods and services, maintains accurate records, and supports cost-effective sourcing strategies. The position also provides administrative and reporting support to the Operations Manager and collaborates across departments to maintain operational efficiency. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred. 3–5 years of experience in the food industry preferred. Advanced computer skills required, including proficiency in MS Office. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of NetSuite ERP systems is preferred. Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract management to secure materials and services at competitive prices. Collaborate with production, inventory, and logistics teams to forecast demand and ensure alignment of procurement activities with manufacturing schedules. Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery performance, and compliance with company standards. Monitor supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Support operational teams by providing timely procurement data, resolving supply issues, and assisting in inventory control and documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement activities. Prepare reports and analysis on procurement activities, market trends, and supplier performance to inform strategic decision-making. Skills: The required skills enable the Procurement Specialist & Operation Support to efficiently manage supplier relationships and procurement workflows, ensuring materials are sourced cost-effectively and delivered on time. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential for securing favorable terms and maintaining collaboration across departments. Proficiency with procurement software and data analysis tools supports accurate forecasting and reporting, which are critical for aligning procurement with production needs. Preferred skills such as ERP system knowledge and lean manufacturing principles enhance the ability to integrate procurement activities within broader operational strategies and drive continuous improvement. Together, these skills empower the specialist to contribute to a resilient and efficient supply chain that supports the company’s manufacturing objectives.
