Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help and assist as needed with the Food Services Director and Administration to keep residents satisfied with food and during dining programs
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure food is received, stored, and prepared according to dietary standards
• Maintain kitchen, food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times
• Responsible for opening and closing the kitchen
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and regulatory food safety standards and practices
• Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer
• Assist with preparation and execution of special events and theme meals
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must possess a genuine and caring attitude towards seniors
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a chef, healthcare setting preferred
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with residents and staff
• Able to lift 50 pounds
