How you'll contribute A Laboratory Supervisor who excels in this role supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. Additional duties include: Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Handles and resolves complex issues and complaints. Leads the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions. Additional requirements include: Certifications: ASCP or AMT Clinical Lab Scientist/Medical Technologist or equivalent.
