Senior Accountant Salary: Up to $120k Base DOE Location: Bethel, CT Why This Senior Accountant Opportunity Stands Out Highly visible role supporting international accounting operations across multiple global entities and regions Opportunity to join a PE-backed, global technology organization with operations spanning 15+ countries Blend of operational accounting, international accounting exposure, analytics, and process improvement initiatives Strong exposure to P&L ownership, balance sheet management, intercompany accounting, and month-end reporting responsibilities Collaborative and high-energy culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement Leadership team values attitude, adaptability, and intellectual curiosity just as highly as technical accounting skills Opportunity to contribute ideas, challenge legacy processes, and help improve reporting, systems, and workflows Strong team environment with excellent benefits including a 6% 401(k) match and flexible hybrid schedule Direct interaction with accounting leadership and exposure to cross-functional global finance operations Senior Accountant Responsibilities Manage P&L and balance sheet accounting responsibilities across international regions Prepare and support month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting deliverables Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting packages within strict deadlines Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and related regional accounting activities Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational reporting Assist with audit support, statutory reporting, tax compliance coordination, and internal control initiatives Analyze trends, investigate discrepancies, and provide analytical insights to leadership teams Support ERP, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, finance, tax, and operational teams across multiple regions Assist with ad hoc accounting projects, reporting requests, and operational initiatives as needed Senior Accountant Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close exposure Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial statement analysis required Public accounting experience combined with private industry exposure is highly preferred Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate variances, identify inconsistencies, and problem-solve independently Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, data analysis, and complex spreadsheet functionality required Experience with intercompany accounting, international accounting, or multi-entity environments preferred ERP experience required, with Microsoft D365 experience considered a strong plus Manufacturing industry experience is helpful but not required CPA is considered a plus but not required Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and positive team-oriented attitude are essential Additional Details Hybrid schedule with one remote day per week (Monday-Thursday onsite) Office located in Bethel, CT Role is a backfill opportunity supporting an established accounting team with three direct reports under the Accounting Manager Leadership is specifically seeking someone who can step in quickly, contribute immediately, and positively impact team culture Interview process includes technical and analytical testing focused on Excel, data analysis, and accounting problem-solving skills Ideal candidates will balance strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity, adaptability, and a team-first mentality EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.
