Job Title: Credit Analyst I
Location: Remote (MST or PST Time Zones Only)
Salary: $80,000 $85,000 ($100,000 in California for Level I)
Bonus: 10 12%
Job Summary
We are seeking a Credit Analyst to analyze, evaluate, and underwrite new and renewal premium finance loans. The ideal candidate will have experience in premium finance, commercial credit, or Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, with a strong background in financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and commercial lending.
This role is responsible for assessing credit quality, identifying risk, structuring loan recommendations, and preparing credit packages for approval while ensuring compliance with company credit policies and banking regulations.
Required Qualifications (Red Rat / Must-Haves)

Minimum 3 years of experience in Premium Finance (Required)

OR 3+ years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance

OR 5+ years of Commercial Credit Analysis experience within a bank or financial institution

Strong experience analyzing:

Corporate financial statements

Individual financial statements

Business and personal tax returns

Cash flow

Balance sheets

Income statements

Financial spreading

Experience evaluating commercial credit requests and making sound credit recommendations

Knowledge of commercial lending and loan structuring

Experience assessing collateral and credit risk

Ability to prepare Loan Committee Applications (LCA), credit memorandums, or similar credit approval packages

Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Knowledge of commercial insurance policy provisions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
-
Analyze and underwrite new and renewal premium finance loans.

Spread and analyze corporate and individual financial statements and tax returns.

Evaluate commercial credit requests to determine credit quality and appropriate loan structures.

Assess cash flow, debt service coverage, and repayment capacity.

Identify credit risks, mitigants, and collateral adequacy.

Prepare Loan Committee Applications (LCA) and supporting documentation.

Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and banking regulations.

Review commercial insurance policies and related provisions.

Partner with Sales and Account Management to support lending decisions.

Monitor portfolio trends and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Support annual reviews, line of credit requests, and other credit-related activities.
Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred
