Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients; monitor medical and emotional status
- Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options; adjust care as needed
- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design and implement treatment plans
- Administer psychotropic medications and other treatments; document reactions and responses
- Maintain a safe, secure environment for staff and patients; respond to safety concerns and incidents
- Document patient information in medical records; follow physician orders; ensure confidentiality
- Perform administrative tasks such as progress notes and basic charting in the electronic medical record

Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license (active)
- CPI Certification
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience
- Ability to work in an adolescent inpatient behavioral health setting and to adapt to rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
