ICU RN

Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Westwood, New Jersey. The ICU RN provides comprehensive, critical care to patients in the intensive care unit and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient safety and care. Responsibilities Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition. Administer complex medications and treatments per advanced critical care nursing techniques. Operate and manage advanced life support equipment. Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU environments; address physical and emotional needs. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner. Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters). Educate patients and families about the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations. Communicate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures through ongoing education and training. Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards; participate in quality improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned within scope and adhere to hospital safety protocols. Qualifications Required: One year of recent ICU RN experience. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications. Preferred: CCRN certification; TNCC, NIHSS certification; other certifications or licenses may be required. Essential Skills & Abilities Critical thinking, service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication. English reading, writing, and communication proficiency; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary and move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend. Ability to work with diverse personnel and maintain professionalism. Technical/motor skills for procedures and use of department equipment. Mental resilience to work under pressure and irregular schedules; attention to detail.
