Part-Time, Live-Out Family Assistant Needed – Larchmont, NY

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Saturday–Sunday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (approximately 18 hours/week), with flexibility as the family’s weekend schedule may change. Occasional pre-arranged overnights may be needed.

About the Family

A warm and busy family in Larchmont, NY is seeking an experienced, intuitive, and proactive Family Assistant to help care for their toddler and baby while also assisting with light household organization and family-related tasks.

Both parents work from home full-time and are actively involved in the children’s day-to-day care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in partnership with both parents and following their guidance and preferences. The family values a collaborative, parent-led approach and is looking for someone who communicates openly and respectfully, raises concerns constructively, and is receptive to feedback.

The family has two children, a toddler and a baby , as well as a 30-pound dog.

The toddler loves imaginary play and would thrive with someone creative who enjoys child-led play, arts, crafts, drama, storytelling, and other engaging activities. The family is specifically looking for someone who is nurturing and genuinely enjoys interacting with young children rather than relying on screens or a phone for entertainment.

The family strongly prefers a Spanish-speaking nanny , as they would like the children to have regular exposure to Spanish.

The family also values someone who is genuinely proactive about agreed-upon child-related and light household responsibilities. This includes children’s laundry, bottles and dishes, tidying play areas, and helping keep common areas orderly. The ideal candidate will view these tasks as a natural part of supporting the family.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive care for a toddler and baby
• Engage the toddler in imaginative, child-led play
• Plan and participate in creative activities including arts, crafts, drama, and storytelling
• Feed the toddler and provide occasional bottle feeding for the baby
• Keep the children’s playroom and areas tidy
• Complete children’s laundry
• Wash and organize bottles and children’s dishes
• Help tidy and organize kitchen and common areas
• Assist with household organizational projects, including closets, pantry, toys, and other spaces
• Run family errands as needed
• Drive using your own vehicle
• Proactively assist wherever needed throughout the day
• Work collaboratively with both parents who are home and actively involved with the children
• Communicate concerns respectfully and constructively
• Be receptive to parental feedback and direction
• Travel with the family on domestic and international trips as needed
• Provide occasional overnight care when pre-arranged

• Previous experience caring for infants and toddlers

• Socially aware and able to read cues in a busy family environment
• Comfortable working alongside parents who are home during the day
• Flexible and willing to transition between childcare and household assistance
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
• CPR/First Aid certified
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable with a household that limits phone use and does not rely on screen time
• Spanish fluency is strongly preferred
• Fragrance-conscious, as some family members have fragrance allergies
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally is a strong plus
