Position Summary

Denali Water Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Windrow Turner Operator to support daily composting and material management operations. This position requires an experienced heavy equipment operator who is comfortable operating a variety of equipment, including a windrow turner, skid steer, tractor, and front-end loader . The ideal candidate thrives in outdoor environments and can work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions throughout the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a windrow turner to manage and maintain compost windrows according to operational requirements.
• Safely operate heavy equipment, including:
  • Windrow Turner
  • Skid Steer
  • Tractor
  • Front-End Loader
• Monitor composting processes and assist with material movement, blending, and site maintenance.
• Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, and operational inefficiencies.
• Maintain accurate operational records and equipment logs as required.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Assist with site cleanup and general facility upkeep.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience required.
• Experience operating windrow turners, loaders, tractors, skid steers, or similar equipment preferred.
• Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures and daily maintenance requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in composting, agriculture, landscaping, waste management, or related industries is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to enter and exit equipment multiple times throughout the day.
• Comfortable working on uneven terrain and around moving equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including:
  • Extreme heat
  • Cold temperatures
  • Rain
  • Snow
  • Dusty environments

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a versatile equipment operator who enjoys working outdoors, has strong heavy equipment experience, takes pride in maintaining equipment, and can safely operate multiple types of machinery while supporting composting and site operations year-round.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed outdoors at a composting or material processing facility. Employees should be prepared to work in all environmental conditions year-round while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and environmental stewardship.
