Spring 2027 Production Operations Student Co-Op Country United States of America State / County Michigan City Muskegon Division Metals Company Cannon Muskegon Function Operations Workplace Type On-Site Position type Intern Job Description Spring 2027 Semester Production Student Co-Op opening (paid, with housing stipend) - Hiring a Production/Operations student for our plant in Muskegon, Michigan. A minimum of a 3-month assignment. Part-time employment (20+hrs/week) for 6-months also qualifies. Support production team with meeting expected production schedules and material quality while controlling plant costs. Must be able to relate to all personnel both hourly and salaried to promote a cooperative interactive relationship with all team members. Essential Functions Supporting the Production team with training initiatives (safety, quality, and operation) for hourly production employees Promote proper housekeeping and ensure all work areas are clean, maintained, and safe at all times Make necessary production system transactions Responsible for tracking and supporting cost reduction efforts Assist in analyzing production data for establishing and documenting tasks Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships Assist with Production Operation department duties Performs other related duties as assigned Additional Responsibilities Work with Production team to prepare, coordinate and maintain schedules for Production schedules Work with operations to meet department goals Qualifications Competencies Interpersonal skills Computer skills Education and Experience Enrolled and completed 2+ years accredited university in a related field of study (e.g., Business, Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Management) Special Skills The ability to organize and support multiple priorities Problem analysis and resolution Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to company values Change management Computer proficiency in Windows environment and software tools that support job responsibilities Relocation Relocation is authorized for this position.
