Seasonal Forklift Driver

Position Purpose This role accelerates business value by primarily moving completed pallets from the lines, shrink‑wrapping them, and stacking or loading them onto trucks. The role may also move completed pallets from the staging area to triple‑stack them in the freezers, demonstrating our “True North” attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, clear communication, fact‑based decisions, servant leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset. Duties and Responsibilities Move pallets from the line with a forklift and place them to be shrink wrapped. Operate the shrink wrap machine. Load and unload trucks and trailers using proper documentation. Operate the forklift safely and responsibly, avoiding equipment or employee hazards. Perform an accurate inventory count in all freezers. Retrieve triple‑stacked product safely and load trucks efficiently. Ensure there are a limited number of short pallets in the freezer. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management. Adhere to the Code of Business Ethics, acting with honesty and integrity. Maintain high safety standards; safety is a personal responsibility. Essential Mental Functions and Skills Read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Work in a constant state of alertness and safety. Work in an unfatigued state. Accurately gauge lengths of time and distance. Quickly store and recall instructions in short‑term memory. Concentrate and perform tasks involving high cognitive function and judgment. Cope with sudden changes, emergencies, or alarms. Demonstrate a caring, committed, and safety‑concerned attitude. Possess fast reflexes and unimpaired coordination for rapid response. Be free from any mental or physical impairment that could affect safe, competent performance. Take prompt and appropriate responses to operating conditions. Contacts Internal: P&V Supervisor, P&V Maintenance Personnel, Delivery Supervisor, and Drivers External: Dock customers Operating Responsibilities Perform work safely to avoid injuries and property damage. Maintain product flow in the production room while stacking ice and loading trucks. Supervisory Responsibility No supervisory responsibility. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED with the ability to count product and complete simple paperwork. Certified forklift operator. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Lift and stack product up to 45 lbs during 12‑hour shifts. Work in room temperatures of 45–60°F and in freezers at 15°F. Regularly sit and listen; frequently use hands. Occasionally stand and walk. Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are required.
