About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Critical Operations to lead the operational, financial, and performance aspects of a large-scale data center campus. This executive role demands a unique combination of in-depth data center operational knowledge and advanced business leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational excellence of mission-critical infrastructure, as well as driving commercial outcomes, client satisfaction, and long-term value creation. Key responsibilities include leading a culture of safety, managing preventative and corrective maintenance programs, owning full P&L responsibility, and acting as the executive client sponsor. The role also requires expertise in data center infrastructure systems, including electrical and mechanical systems, and a strong understanding of industry standards and compliance issues. Applicants for the Vice President of Critical Operations position at the company must have a minimum of 10 years' of data center facility operations and maintenance experience, with at least 5-10 years' in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale operations and budgets, deep expertise in data center infrastructure systems, and exceptional leadership and coaching skills. A strong background in safety, reliability, and operational excellence, as well as experience in business, financial, and campus leadership, is essential. The role requires a candidate with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills, who is adept at multitasking, problem-solving, and driving continual improvement. A background in hyperscale data center operations and experience with P&L ownership are also necessary.
