Role Security Officer Lobby Desk in Charleston, WV . As a Front Desk Officer at a government location, you will be the first point of contact, helping to support access management, monitor security-related systems, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $14.25 / Hour Job Schedule Day Time – Thur 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM Fri 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM Sat 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM Sun 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM What You'll Do Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location. Monitor front desk activity, greet visitors, verify identification and/or credentials, and guide authorized persons in accordance with site access procedures. Answer phones, manage visitor logs and basic front desk records, and communicate clearly with staff, guests, and/or public visitors regarding entry requirements. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed. Observe lobby and reception areas for unusual activity and report security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel. Minimum Requirements Customer service experience is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
