Director of Corporate Affairs, Specialty Franchise - Lupus

This director-level role leads integrated communications for Biogen's U.S. lupus franchise, developing multi-channel strategies that support commercial priorities, disease awareness, and patient education. The position requires expertise in pre-launch and launch activities, immunology communications, and stakeholder engagement across patients, physicians, advocacy organizations, and media. The director reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs, North America, and collaborates cross-functionally to advance business objectives and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated multi-channel communications strategies supporting franchise and company objectives
• Lead communications for lupus franchise covering pre-launch, launch, data milestones, and lifecycle management
• Provide strategic counsel to franchise leadership on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and reputation building
• Create and execute consumer and physician-focused campaigns with defined objectives, outcomes, and KPIs
• Manage external stakeholder relationships with advocacy organizations, professional societies, and opinion leaders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 10+ years pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences communications experience
• Significant experience with commercialized medicines; lupus experience preferred, immunology required
• Expertise in product communications, strategic storytelling, and multi-channel campaign development
• Proven success leading consumer and healthcare professional communications programs with measurable outcomes
• Experience translating clinical and scientific information into compelling audience-centered communications
• Strong patient advocacy organization engagement and external stakeholder relationship experience

Compensation: $192,000-$264,000 base
