Forest Hill Animal Clinic is seeking either:
- A board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, or
- A Veterinarian with a strong passion for Ophthalmology who is eager to pursue advanced training and certification.
This is a rare opportunity to join a long-standing, highly respected referral practice in one of Toronto’s most sought-after neighbourhoods while receiving personalized mentorship from Dr. Rick Klys, who has dedicated more than 35 years to veterinary ophthalmology and has built one of the most established ophthalmology services in the region.

Forest Hill Animal Clinic has been providing ophthalmology referral services since 1980 and receives referrals from more than 500 loyal GP practices across Ontario. Dr. Klys currently sees approximately 25 ophthalmology patients daily and performs 4–6 surgeries weekly, supported by a highly trained and tenured ophthalmology team.

Advanced Ophthalmology Equipment
Our ophthalmology service is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including:
- Diode laser
- Cryo CO2 unit
- Electrocautery
- Four major surgical eye kits
- Slit lamp
- Indirect ophthalmoscope
- Gonioscopy equipment
- Diamond burr for keratotomy
- Fundus camera
- Ocular ultrasound
- Coaxial surgical microscope
Common Procedures & Services
The ophthalmology service regularly performs:
- Emergency corneal repairs
- Eyelid laceration repairs and corrective procedures
- Cherry eye correction
- Biopsy and removal of ocular masses
- Cryotherapy and electrocautery procedures for eyelash abnormalities
- Ocular ultrasounds
- Electroretinograms (ERG)
- Advanced ophthalmic surgeries utilizing a specialized operating microscope
