Field Technician III

Title: Field Technician III

Location: Local to Reno, NV (Onsite Required)

Hourly Rate: $30 - $36

Duration: Long term Contract to Potential Hire

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US


As a Field Operations Technician III, you will utilize your technical background to work on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best-in-class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. You will perform installation, repair, configuration, and testing of moves, additions, changes, and disconnects (MACD) on various Nortel, Fujitsu, Alcatel, and similar products to support customer optical, electrical, voice and data services. Additionally, you will test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).


Key Success Factors

• Installation experience in Data Centers/Telecom Rooms/Hubs.
• Experience in testing Fiber Cables, OTDR, BERT, RFC, Voltmeter, and Optical Power Meter.
• Maintenance on Ciena, Infinera, Juniper, Alcatel, Cisco, Nortel, and Nokia equipment.
• Ethernet, CAT5, CAT6, Terminating.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently resolve tickets
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ticketing systems to manage tasks and priorities
• Experience working in a data center environment
• Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional/military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, network engineering)

Requirements:

• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings including background and drug & alcohol
• The ability to work on call, evenings, and weekends as required
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position
