Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a travel contract opportunity in Wickenburg, Arizona. This position supports students in grades 6–8 in a resource setting with an approximate caseload of 24 students.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing individualized instruction, supporting student growth, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure students receive appropriate educational services.

Grade Levels: 6th–8th Grade
Setting: Middle School Resource
Caseload: Approximately 24 students
Assignment Type: Travel/Contract

Responsibilities

• Teach district-approved curriculum using approved instructional resources
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student's individual needs
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to adapt curriculum to student needs
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior to create an effective learning environment
• Evaluate student academic growth and maintain accurate grades and records
• Identify student needs, make appropriate referrals, and implement strategies outlined in IEPs
• Maintain complete and accurate student records in accordance with District and State requirements
• Plan and coordinate the work of teacher aides, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and during field trips
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment through functional and attractive displays and exhibits of student work
• Collaborate with school staff and other professionals to support student success

Requirements

• Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Ability to provide individualized and small-group instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
