Job Description

As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be more than just a button pusher. Your role involves setting up your machine, performing tool changes, and conducting tear downs. You will need to read micrometers and calipers, interpret blueprints and drawings to create parts, and inspect your creations to ensure they are flawless. Additionally, you will perform minor maintenance on the machine, with training provided if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, including performing tool changes and tear downs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to manufacture parts.
• Utilize micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.
• Inspect manufactured parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Perform minor maintenance on CNC machines with available training.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years experience in setting up machines (Mill or Lathe).
• 1+ years performing tool changes on Mills or Lathes.
• 1+ years CNC operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and use measuring instruments, specifically micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience in machine maintenance.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing.

Work Environment

You will work in a decent-sized company with approximately 80 employees. The environment is bright and clean, with a long line of machines. The second plant features a large warehouse with small assembly stations. While not climate-controlled, it is reasonably comfortable with a slight smell of oil and metal.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, MI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
