Full-Cycle Payroll Administrator

Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $29.00–$30.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Flexible start times available

This position is focused on full-cycle payroll processing for multiple companies and multi-state employee groups. Responsibilities include processing and auditing payroll, calculating wages and deductions, maintaining employee payroll records, reconciling payroll activity, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax requirements.

A minimum of two years of direct payroll experience is required for this position.

Flexible scheduling is available, with start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional who is highly accurate, analytical, comfortable working with sensitive financial and employee information, and able to manage multiple payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for multiple companies and employee groups
• Compile and validate hours, leave, premiums, adjustments, taxes, benefits, union dues, and other payroll deductions
• Calculate wages and deductions and enter payroll data into payroll systems
• Review payroll calculations and system outputs, identify discrepancies, and correct errors before final processing
• Maintain employee payroll records including tax withholding, benefit changes, garnishments, loans, and direct deposit information
• Process off-cycle and manual checks as needed
• Prepare payroll liability payments and related documentation
• Run and audit payroll, labor, earnings, and tax reports
• Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end activities
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and payroll requirements
• Support payroll audits and maintain accurate payroll documentation
• Assist with payroll system upgrades, testing, integrations, and process improvements
• Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and accurately
• Assist with year-end payroll activities and W-2 distribution

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of two years of direct payroll experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, wage calculations, tax withholding, and payroll deductions
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive payroll and employee information
• Background screening is part of the hiring process for this position.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Deltek Costpoint, ADP tax services or other third-party tax providers, union payroll, HRIS integrations, electronic timekeeping systems, or multi-state/multi-entity payroll is preferred. CPP certification or progress toward certification is also a plus.
