Grain Superintendent

Job Brief:

To help with all aspects of the location in a manner that will optimize StateLine's efficiency and help achieve the cooperative's mission and goals and result in outstanding customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Receiving and loading grain
2. Make sure facility is in compliance of OSHA's housekeeping requirements at all times.
3. Fill out all repair paperwork and permits for all activities that require such documentation prior to performing those duties.
4. Inform Location Manager of any problems or potential problems with the facility or grain inventories.
5. Maintain equipment on a regular schedule to avoid breakdowns and anticipate and plan for major overhauls.
6. Loading and blending grain for train units. Trains need to be loaded in 15 hours from time of placement, including nights and weekends when applicable.
7. Performing other duties as assigned
8. Grain handling includes but is not limited to filling, reclaiming and transferring of grain
9. Maintains an accurate running inventory.
10. Climb leg and bins for maintenance and inventory.
11. Restock supplies and inventory; places orders as needed.
12. Enters purchase order data in the inventory control system.
13. Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries according to policy.
14. Records, reports, and returns defective items.
15. Processes invoices, supplying necessary data to accounting or other appropriate department for payment and recordkeeping.
16. Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
17. Handles complaints related to shipments; notifies supervisor of any shipping or receiving issues.
18. Comply with government regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
19. Be knowledgeable of NH3 plant and operations. Properly fill and scale NH3 nurse tanks.

2. Maintain a clean and positive appearance with both yourself and SLC equipment and facilities.
3. Attending schools and trainings pertaining to agronomy to maintain and build expertise as requested.
4. Perform duties in an efficient and time saving manner.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education certificate; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skilled in performing mathematical calculations.
• Experience in ensuring facility safety.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Maintain a current Class A CDL license with hazmat & tank endorsement.
