Registered Respiratory Therapist Nights

Position Overview Texas Health Denton seeks to hire a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Location: 3000 North I-35, Denton, TX 76201. Salary: Minimum $25.40 per hour to maximum $37.86 per hour, based on relevant experience. Work Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours per week, 7 pm-7 am, rotating weekends. Essential Duties Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness. Reviews available medical records and obtains pertinent medical history from patient or family. Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements. Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care. Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs. Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment. Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license. Performs or delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely. Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment). Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, and home programs/self-management. Maintains bedside and ventilator alarms in audible position. Maintains patient safety throughout treatment. Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues. Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs. Administers medication in a safe and correct manner, adhering to medication administration guidelines. Reports unsafe conditions and equipment in a proper and timely manner. Responds to emergency situations. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program is required. One year of Med/Surg or Critical Care experience preferred. NICU or ICU experience preferred. RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner required upon hire. RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist required upon hire. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support required upon hire. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred upon hire. NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program preferred upon hire. Skills Good verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and computer experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
