Job Description
Our organization, affiliated with a prominent medical institution, is looking for a part-time (24 hours per week) board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Ophthalmologist to become a part of the expanding Division of Ophthalmology at our facility located in Elmhurst, New York. This role serves the vibrant and diverse community of Western Queens.
We are in search of a pediatric ophthalmologist who possesses a strong background in managing children and complex pediatric ophthalmology cases within an outpatient clinic environment. An enthusiasm for teaching is also essential. There are numerous opportunities available for program development and academic growth in areas such as general pediatric ophthalmology, quality and safety, as well as medical education. Our hospital is conveniently accessible via public transport and by car from various locations across New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.
Applicants must hold an MD degree and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Ophthalmology, having completed fellowship training in a relevant field. A valid New York State License, DEA, and Medicaid number are also required. We value innovative scholarship and expect candidates to have experience in resident education and outstanding patient care, particularly in strabismus. Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous but not mandatory. We provide a faculty appointment with our affiliated medical school that aligns with the candidate's credentials, experience, and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities. Our organization is an equal opportunity employer, adhering to all relevant federal civil rights laws. We are committed to ensuring that no individual is discriminated against or treated differently based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. We strive to cultivate an environment where all faculty, staff, students, trainees, patients, visitors, and the communities we serve feel valued and supported. Our mission is to establish a healthcare and educational institution that actively works to eliminate barriers, tackle challenges, and promote equity in all facets of our organization.
