The primary function of the Medical Assistant is to assist Shoreline Wellness Center and Shoreline Wellness Behavioral Health Clinic Medical staff (APRN/MD) in coordinating client care. The Medical Assistant will facilitate the coordination of client mental health medication management treatment with the interdisciplinary team and provide support to the administrative staff.

Job Duties:

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel client appointments.
• Triage telephone calls from new, existing, and former clients, as well as providers and community organizations
• Monitor APRN/MD caseloads and availability
• Review and fax the requested medical records
• Check voicemail boxes and follow up with clients, providers, etc.
• Promote administrative policies to ensure the quality of care
• Assist with refill requests and medication authorizations
• Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions
• Take the client vitals signs
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency in using computers and programs, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA and Mandated Reporter clauses
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Clinical skills preferred

Job Type: This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) with the potential to become full-time. Evenings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday until 8 PM are a must.
