Overview Endoscopy Registered Nurse. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team at a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital. This acute care facility provides a wide range of services and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As an Endoscopy RN, you will play a vital role in assisting with various endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role primarily cares for adult and geriatric patients undergoing screening and surveillance colonoscopies and EGDs. The daily census typically ranges from 12–24 patients. You will be responsible for circulating, administering conscious sedation, and monitoring patients. The ideal candidate will have experience with telemetry and a strong understanding of pre- and post-procedure protocols. The facility provides green scrubs, and charting is done using Cerner. Personal transportation is required. Responsibilities Circulate and monitor patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Administer and monitor conscious sedation. Assist physicians with colonoscopies, EGDs, esophageal manometries, anorectal manometries, paracentesis, and pH studies. Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and care. Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens. Start and maintain IVs. Monitor and interpret telemetry readings. Administer opioid analgesics and reversal agents as needed. Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner. Float within scope to meet facility needs, including UH Endoscopy. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption. Preferred Qualifications Previous charge nurse experience. Experience with Esophageal Manometries, Anorectal Manometries, Paracentesis and pH Studies. Experience with Cerner charting system. Skills & Competencies Administering Conscious Sedation Colonoscopy EGD Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) ERBE (portable) electrocautery ERCP Esophageal varices and banding Forcedps and polyp snares handling Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management Starting and maintaining IVs Specimen handling/labeling Conscious sedation monitoring and reversal agents Shift Details Assignment Dates: 2026-07-06 to 2026-10-05 Shift Type: Day Shift Duration: 10 hours Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Days per Week: 4 Contract Length: 13 weeks Weekend Requirement: No Call Requirement: Scheduled to work past off time of 5:30 PM, 1–2 times per week to cover late cases. Average time to leave on these days is 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (facility may call off 3x during a 13-week assignment).
