About the OpportunityKARE CENTER in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a passionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join our growing behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and integrated mental health care to a diverse patient population. You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers to deliver holistic, evidence-based, person-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations including mental status examinations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and psychotic disorders.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy, tolerability, and safety.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and medication management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and PCPs to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Conduct telepsychiatry appointments as needed in addition to in-person visits.
• Perform follow-up medication management visits and monitor patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Participate in crisis intervention and safety planning for high-risk patients.
• Engage in ongoing quality improvement, case conferences, and continuing education activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification (American Nurses Credentialing Center).
• Active and unrestricted Michigan NP license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Valid DEA license for controlled substance prescribing.
• 1-3 years of psychiatric NP experience preferred; new graduates with clinical psychiatric placements are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with EHR systems; proficiency in clinical documentation.
• Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent, patient-centered care.

• Competitive salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience.

This is a hybrid role with telehealth as a primary pilot program. It is a heavy telemedicine platform with office hours as well.
