Duties : Under the general direction of the Transmission Planning Section Manager, the incumbent performs high level specialized electrical engineering work to meet the interconnection transmission requirements for the operation of the State Water Project (SWP).

Must be available to work outside normal business hours, including overnight travel. Travel throughout the state of California will be required. Employee is required to successfully complete all safety training related to the functions of the job. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

It is desirable that the incumbent have experience or knowledge in the electrical engineering field, including transmission planning, the CAISO energy market, TAC rates, transmission planning processes, transmission studies, and interconnection queue procedures such as PSLF and affected system studies. Additional desirable expertise includes understanding State Water Project operations, general electric industry practices, reliability compliance, and project management of transmission planning studies, including developing study plans and reports.
