He or She is responsible for timely cleaning checked out rooms and stay overs, on a day-to-day basis.Experience in a hotel or a related field preferredHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredWork Environment – Ability to work:With various type of equipment such as telephones, two-way radios, Housekeeping cart, laundry cart, vacuum, broom, window cleaner, furniture polish, all-purpose cleaner, dumpster/trash compactor sponge, mops and buckets, keys, hand vacuum, extension cord, door stopper, laundry chute, elevators, floor care products (i.e., stripper, wax, sealer) carpet extractor, Wet/Dry VacuumUnder variable temperature conditionsUnder variable noise levelsOutdoors/IndoorsAround chemicals, fumes and or odor hazardsAround dust and or mite hazardsPhysical Requirements:Long hours sometimes requiredMedium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsAbility to bend, stretch, twist, stoop or reach with your body and arms repeatedly without difficultyAbility to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigueAbility to work under variable temperatures and noise levelsNear Vision - The ability to see details at close rangeMental Requirements:Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in EnglishMust be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyMust be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessaryMust have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular needMust be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guestsMathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand basic arithmetic functionsMulti-lingual skills helpfulEssential Duties & Functions:Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented mannerMaintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotelMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when workingComply at all times hotel's policies and procedures to encourage safe and efficient hotel operationsSecure issued keys at all times, report lost or stolen keys immediatelyFollow proper policies and procedures on entering and securing guest roomsThoroughly clean and re-stock guestrooms to company and brand standardsComplete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-upReport all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediatelyKeep all hallways, public areas, and closets clean, neat, boomed and vacuumedPrepare housekeeping cleaning cart for next day's useReport any maintenance repairs immediately to the Housekeeping Supervisor or ManagerComplete all assigned cleaning duties in designated areaKeep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attentionNon-Essential Duties:Assist in Laundry and/or cleaning Public Access AreasAttend department/hotel meetingsAssist hotel in completing special cleaning projectsOther duties as assignedThe difference between being a good business and an amazing business can be found in the company's footprints made by giving back and serving others.
