Position Overview

Celeris Global is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) to help launch, and support the day-to-day operation of our U.S. customs brokerage department. The first priority for this role will be working with Celeris management and the designated qualifying broker/officer, as applicable, to complete the CBP organizational customs broker licensing and National Permit process and prepare the company for compliant brokerage operations. The LCB will also work closely with operations, customers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and other government agencies to help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant import transactions.

The role may begin part-time and transition to full-time as volume grows, or it may begin full-time for the right candidate. We are looking for a practical, compliance-minded professional who enjoys helping build processes and best practices in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of Celeris's U.S. customs brokerage authority, including organizational licensing, National Permit, CBP coordination, ACE/ABI and filer setup, and operational readiness.
• Assist in developing and maintaining brokerage SOPs, Powers of Attorney and customer controls, entry-review procedures, recordkeeping, training, quality controls, and Responsible Supervision and Control procedures.
• Prepare, review, and support the filing of U.S. Customs entries and entry summaries.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other import documentation for completeness and compliance.
• Determine and/or review HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, marking requirements, duty treatment, and related import requirements.
• Identify potential AD/CVD exposure and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements and appropriately escalate higher-risk transactions.
• Support ISF activity, importer onboarding, Powers of Attorney, customer due diligence, and CBP Form 5106/importer record matters.
• Communicate with CBP and other government agencies regarding entries, holds, exams, requests for information, and other import matters.
• Provide practical customs compliance guidance to customers and Celeris operations personnel.
• Monitor entry rejects, errors, liquidations, and brokerage exceptions and support post-entry corrections, protests, and related activity as appropriate.
• Support CargoWise customs brokerage configuration and workflows and help train entry-writing personnel as the department grows.
• Coordinate closely with Celeris air and ocean import operations to provide customers with an integrated forwarding and customs brokerage experience.

Qualifications

Required

· Active U.S. Customs Broker License in good standing.

· Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import-entry procedures, and customs documentation.

· Experience with customs entries, international freight documentation, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, duty calculation, and general import compliance.

· Strong attention to detail, judgment, organization, and documentation.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work professionally with customers, CBP, carriers, and internal teams.

· Ability to work independently, contribute as part of a growing team, and escalate compliance concerns when necessary.

Preferred

· Experience with a customs broker, freight forwarder, NVOCC, or international logistics provider.

· Experience with CargoWise / CargoWise One and ACE/ABI.

· Experience with air and ocean imports, ISF, PGA requirements, AD/CVD, post-entry procedures, and/or customs audits.

· Experience developing brokerage procedures, training employees, or reviewing/supervising customs-entry activity.

· Familiarity with CTPAT and supply-chain security programs.

Schedule & Employment Structure

The position may be part-time initially with the opportunity to transition to full-time, or full-time from the start. Specific schedule and work arrangement will be discussed during the interview process. We will have flexibility, especially in the beginning.

Compensation & Benefits
