RN - Emergency Department (ER/ED)

The ER is large and busy. Travel experience is required (hard stop), manager prefers travelers with at least 3 ER contracts completed. Screen if 1-2 completed travel assignments. Minimum experience: 2 years; 1st timers not accepted. Patient population: adolescents to geriatrics. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS. Required general skills and work setting: general emergency department (non-trauma); very large and busy with high acuity; stroke and STEMI certified. Ratio/census: 1:4 ratio; 59 bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day. Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis. Scrub color: navy blue. RTO: max 7 days. Blackout dates: spring break (April 4th-12th). Weekends: every other weekend unless specified elsewhere. Floating: rare but within facility/scope of practice as needed. Call requirements: not specified. Holidays: if one major holiday falls in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day. Compliance: full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time, the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
