This role involves providing patient care for post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, trauma patients, and neuro overflow cases within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The position offers a day shift schedule with flexible scheduling options. Job Details: Location: Kansas City, Missouri Unit Specifics: Bed Capacity: 23 beds Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5 Staff Types: Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available Equipment: traction, fixators, cooling equipment Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including three weekend shifts per schedule period Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float; may float to other MedSurg level of care units such as General Medical/Surgical, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding Certifications & Requirements: RN license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced skills include orthopedic experience, telemetry, NIH procedures performed on unit Certifications required: (None specified) Dress Code: Navy scrubs Typical Procedures on Unit: Post-op knee, hip, shoulder replacements Trauma care Neuro overflow cases Additional Information: The unit is a high-acuity setting within a recognized trauma and stroke center, offering opportunities to work with advanced equipment and experienced staff.
