This role combines standardized clinical rating with basic trial-related medical tasks, performed under the supervision of the study's MD Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I). Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA license in good standing. Individuals with clinical or research experience in psychiatry and/or Alzheimer's disease are highly encouraged to apply. Prior clinical research experience is helpful but not required.The Clinician – Medical Rater is responsible for conducting structured clinical interviews, diagnostic evaluations, neuropsychological assessments and standardized rating scales to assess symptoms across a range of psychiatric and neurological conditions, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, substance use disorders, and Alzheimer's disease. In addition, the Clinician – Medical Rater performs basic trial-related medical tasks—including physical and neurological examinations, review of laboratory reports and ECGs, adverse event (AE) assessment, and concomitant medication review—under the supervision of the PI and/or Sub-I. The Clinician – Medical Rater works closely with a multidisciplinary research team in a fast-paced clinical research environment to support high-quality data collection and successful trial execution.Key Responsibilities:Conduct clinical interviews, diagnostic assessments, and standardized rating scales for psychiatry and neurology clinical trialsEvaluate symptoms and track clinical change across conditions including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and Alzheimer's diseasePerform physical examinations and neurological examinations per protocol requirements, under the supervision of the PI/Sub-IReview laboratory reports and ECGs, identifying and escalating clinically significant findings to the PI/Sub-IAssess and document adverse events (AEs), supporting the PI/Sub-I in relatedness determinationsCollect, review, and document concomitant medications for protocol compliance and eligibility determinationsEnsure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced research environmentWhat Success Looks Like:Conducting reliable, efficient, high-quality clinical assessments and medical evaluations in the context of a fast-paced clinical research settingDemonstrating curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new assessments and working with diverse populations across a variety of psychiatric and neurological indicationsActively incorporating feedback to grow skills and strengthen performance over timeWorking collaboratively with the PI/Sub-I and multidisciplinary team to support smooth study execution, participant safety, and protocol complianceJob Requirements:Active, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA); board certification (e.g., PMHNP-BC or equivalent ANCC certification for NPs, NCCPA certification for PAs) preferredClinical experience in psychiatry, neurology, or a related field; experience working with patients with psychiatric and/or neurological conditions preferredComfort performing physical and neurological examinations and interpreting laboratory and ECG resultsAvailability to work weekdays, 9-5, in-person at our Dallas office.
