HVAC Technician II

The job of HVAC Technician II is done for the purpose of providing advanced HVAC troubleshooting and repair with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting HVAC technicians I and other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: requires a Universal EPA Certification and Advanced Controls Certification (HVAC operating systems). This job reports to Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization's services.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, 30% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Job related experience within a specialized field is required. Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.

Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with commercial HVAC equipment.

Essential Function Test- Physical Exam Advanced Controls Certification (HVAC Operating Systems) Class "E" Driver's License Universal EPA Certification

Asbestos maintenance and operations training within

Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance 30 days of hire and annual refresher course
