Financial Crime Investigator
PLP Group
About Klarna At Klarna, we're building an everyday finance network, helping over 120 million consumers across 26 countries save time and money, and worry less about their finances. Working at Klarna means taking on problems most companies never get to solve, and being hands-on enough that the interesting part of the work lands with you, not someone else. You'll build with AI, not watch it happen. This is the stretch zone. Come find out what you're capable of. About the Team Klarna's Financial Crime function protects the integrity of our payments ecosystem - preventing fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing while enabling smarter, more flexible shopping experiences for millions of consumers and partners globally. This is a great place to build a real investigative career: you'll get hands-on exposure to live, high-stakes cases from day one, working alongside experienced investigators who'll help you grow fast. Who We're Looking For Maybe you're just getting started, or you're a few steps in and already outperforming the room - either way, what matters to us is how you show up: fast to pick things up, quick to ask the right question, and quicker still to notice something before anyone has to point it out to you. You're driven by getting better at the craft, not by ticking boxes, and you're looking for a team that will match that energy and push you further. You might be the analyst who started writing sharper case notes than the template asked for. The officer or investigator who kept digging past the obvious answer. Wherever you're coming from, you want to go deeper into financial crime - not just stay adjacent to it. What You Will Do Support investigations into suspicious activity, gathering evidence, applying open-source and internal research techniques, and documenting findings clearly enough that someone else could pick up the case cold. Prepare accurate, well-organized reports and maintain detailed records that support decision-making and hold up under regulatory scrutiny. Collaborate with stakeholders across the Fincrime domain and other internal teams, sharing what you learn and helping improve how the team works. Start contributing to process improvements - if you spot a better way to do something, we want to hear it, and we'll help you turn that instinct into an actual proposal. Build the muscle for what's next: as you grow, expect increasing exposure to more ambiguous, higher-risk cases and eventually a hand in shaping how the team catches them. Who You Are You've worked in KYC, EDD, AML, fraud, compliance, or as an investigator in a law-enforcement setting, and you've already shown real impact in it - we're looking for accomplishment and drive, not years on a resume. Naturally curious and detail-oriented - you notice the inconsistency others miss. Strong analytical instincts, with a genuine interest in investigative work and how financial crime typologies evolve. Comfortable working accurately under deadlines, and not afraid to ask for help or push back respectfully when something doesn't add up. Strong written and verbal English communication skills - you can explain your reasoning clearly, not just state a conclusion. Eager to learn, take feedback well, and grow quickly into more complex casework. A self-starter who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do next. Comfortable using open-source research (OSINT) techniques to dig into a case. Awesome to Have A university degree in Finance, Law, Business, Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience (including law enforcement or investigative service). Interest in AI-assisted investigative tooling - comfort adopting new tools to work smarter, not just harder. A specific case, catch, or project you're proud of and can talk us through - we'd genuinely love to hear about it. Equal Opportunity and Benefits Klarna is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
