About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedics – Tennessee

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend required (subject to change based on needs), floating to similar units as needed based on skill set

Highlights:

• Orthopedics specialty unit with 30-bed capacity and daily census of 15-20 patients
• 6:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• EPIC electronic medical record system; Omnicell medication management
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with ortho trauma, total joint replacements, bariatric surgery, and complex medical-surgical cases
• Pre-assignment modules are compensated (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
• Teaching and community hospital environment with opportunities for professional growth

Requirements:

• Active Tennessee RN license or multistate compact license
• Minimum 1 year of orthopedics nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in peripheral and central line management, IV therapy, telemetry, blood product administration, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and orthopedic trauma care
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
