Spiritual Care Coordinator

Job Description Summary Provides direct pastoral care and spiritual support to patients, family members/significant others and staff throughout the hospital. Usually this involves development of a "parish" within the hospital. Shares in other activities such as invocations at operating unit functions upon request of management, crisis intervention, 24/7 on-call responsibilities, providing hospital-wide worship experiences, and representing OhioHealth Mission & Ministry throughout the community. Responsibilities And Duties 60% Provides ongoing, "hands-on" ministry to patients, families and staff. Includes, but is not limited to: spiritual care, prayer, sacramental ministry, responding to codes. 20% Serves as a contact person or liaison between local clergy, patients, families and staff. Assists in responding to requests for workshops, lectures, etc. from hospital/church/community. Shares responsibilities for providing a variety of worship services as appropriate. Assists coordinator of hospital volunteers in scheduling and overseeing ministry of volunteer chaplains. 10% Shares rotation of all "on-call" responsibilities as needed. 10% Participates as a member of interdisciplinary teams and serves on select hospital committees. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties. The job profile provides an overview of responsibilities and duties and is not intended to be an exhaustive list and is subject to change at any time Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (Required) Knowledge of pastoral care skills, especially as practiced within the hospital setting and in crisis situations. Three years ministry Experience Comfortable in providing inclusive ministry in a broadly ecumenical and interfaith setting.
