Position Overview

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Psychiatrist/MD, the Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) assumes direct responsibility for administering and implementing therapeutic procedures, treatments, medications, and interventions that support patients in achieving the greatest benefit from their treatment plans and residential care.

The LPT utilizes sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and strong patient care skills to coordinate and deliver services that meet established standards of practice. This role requires accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to individuals with behavioral health and developmental support needs.

About the Facility

This assignment is within an Enhanced Behavioral Support Home (EBSH) , a specialized residential environment designed to support adults with significant behavioral, intellectual, and developmental needs. Trained professionals work closely with residents to promote safety, independence, life skills development, and improved quality of life.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Monitor resident behavior and clinical status
• Assist with implementation of individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Support residents with daily living and behavioral interventions
• Observe and report changes in condition
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations
• Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations
• Assist in coordinating patient care and supporting team members

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license in the State of California
• Active BLS/CPR Certification
• Minimum one year of psychiatric experience in a similar setting within the last three years preferred
• Experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) required
• Ability to comply with all professional standards of practice
• Current TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state requirements)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Guardian Live Scan/Background Clearance

Compensation

Local LPT Pay Package

• Pay Rate: $40/hour
• Overtime Rate: 1.5x
• Weekly Gross Pay: Up to $1,600

The LPT demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner. The LPT demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, consistently performs according to established standards and scope of practice and is accountable for managing and assisting others in the management of patient care.


Minimum Requirements:

• Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician license for the state in which the technician practices (LPT only)
• One year of psychiatric experience in a similar setting within the last three years preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
