In alignment with the NWRESD mission statement, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) helps facilitate a child's communication competence, which is critical for positive educational outcomes. The SLP participates in various teams, engages in decision‑making concerning general education intervention, evaluation, eligibility, and services, and plans and implements speech and language programs/services in collaboration with other educational services. The SLP works with students who exhibit a full range of communication disorders, including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing disorders.QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs Valid Driver's License; available transportation and proof of auto insuranceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ensure that all students receive high‑quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive services Demonstrate awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity in language acquisition with diverse populations Provide age‑appropriate interventions selected through an evidence‑based decision‑making process in accordance with IEP/IFSP documentation Design school‑wide speech‑language services employing a continuum of delivery models in the least restrictive environment Address social, academic, and vocational needs that impact achievement of educational goals Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to increase access to language in the curriculum, supporting literacy development across listening, speaking, reading, and writing Identify appropriate instructional strategies, modifications, and/or accommodations in collaboration with the educational team Identify, implement, and support students with augmentative communication devices Maintain appropriate records and reports, including Medicaid billing, if applicable Screen and identify communication disorders in children with special needs Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team during assessment and evaluate students in articulation, voice, fluency, and language impairments Develop and maintain accurate IEP/IFSP records in accordance with special education and district guidelines and timelines Prepare and complete documentation on time, including evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, and data collection entries Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary Access and attend professional development to increase knowledge and provide high‑quality services Conduct hearing screenings, as necessary May be involved with mentoring and/or supervision of graduate SLP students, clinical fellows, and/or new SLPs on the team, per licensure guidelines May supervise SLP assistants and/or paraprofessionals, per licensure guidelines Drive between locations as required Perform other job duties as assigned Note: The description reflects general details necessary to describe the principal functions of this job.
