Distributed Systems Cluster Security Software - Engineering Lead

About The Role In this role, you will be the security czar for Cerebras’s AI cluster product. Such AI clusters have hundreds of wafer‑scale accelerator systems, thousands of high‑end servers, and several thousand networking ports including switches. The environment also includes network attached storage and operates at large‑scale data centre level. You will ensure that Cerebras’s large‑scale AI clusters are secured through first‑principles, best‑practice, security‑first engineering. The cluster involves complex hardware components, networking and a vertically integrated cluster‑management software stack – from bare‑metal deployment to the suite of software that enables multi‑tenant training and inference services on these extensive clusters. Your role will be to secure both the end‑to‑end cluster and the privacy of its use‑cases, developing engineering solutions that provide network access control, user access controls and world‑class multi‑tenancy solutions. Responsibilities Be the primary engineering face and owner of cluster security. Provide strong technical leadership in cluster security for the company. Actively work with corporate security and customers to identify and define security enhancements needed. Build engineering‑driven software that provides guardrails, detection solutions and response tools for vulnerabilities at all layers of the vertical stack (includes hardware and software). Straddle vertically and horizontally across functional teams to ensure the end‑to‑end cluster software is secure. Develop, maintain and execute the roadmap of the cluster security product. Build an outstanding engineering team to deliver world‑class security solutions. Skills And Qualifications 3+ years of demonstrated engineering leadership/management in distributed systems security. Proven track record of delivering, launching and deploying secure distributed solutions to customers. Excellent communication, articulation, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong decision‑making skills with data and trade‑off analysis. Outstanding sense for product and user journeys, an out‑of‑the‑box thinker. Strong road‑map and schedule execution skills under tight timelines and budgets. Strong background in multi‑tenancy of large‑scale clusters is necessary. Strong technical experience in computer and cluster networks is necessary. Strong background in distributed systems software development (K8s and its ecosystem) preferred. Technical experience with bare‑metal cluster management software and related monitoring preferred.
