Delivery/ Warehouse Assistant

Position Summary:

The Morrison Millwork Delivery/Warehouse Assistant role’s essential functions are designed to support the company’s mission through performing driver and warehouse tasks with attention to safety, accuracy, and excellent customer service. This position reports to the Warehouse manager and is responsible for performing a variety of delivery and warehouse tasks. Delivery/Warehouse Assistants will need to be able to communicate with courteousness to fellow team members and customers. Regular cleaning and product organization of the warehouse and delivery environments are vital parts of the delivery role as well.

Essential Roles:

• Execute delivery process: Loading, unloading, and delivery of product; responding to customer questions with courteous customer service; maintaining accurate delivery records; driving delivery vehicles.
• Assist warehouse and logistics operations: Unload trucks with focus on personal safety and product protection; assist with ongoing warehouse organization and cleaning; assist with maintaining accurate warehouse inventory and receiving records; assist other drivers with navigation .

Accountabilities:

• Unload new shipments from vendor trucks confirming contents of each order match the manifest documents.
• Assist in keeping warehouse organized and clean daily.
• Help load and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner onto the delivery truck ensuring contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
• Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from a truck at selected destinations.
• Ensure signatures and photos are obtained to complete deliveries.
• Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries communicating traffic reports, delays, etc. to Logistics manager and/or customers as needed.
• Perform inspections of vehicle prior to and following each trip to always ensure your vehicle is kept clean and in good repair.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations found in the Employee Handbook.
• Assist with miscellaneous warehouse/delivery duties as needed.

Other Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass annual driving record check with no moving violations.
• Must be able to be insured under the company’s auto policy.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Experience driving vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) under 26,000 lbs. is helpful.
• Skilled and confident driver comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle.
• Able to frequently move windows and doors in both warehouse and construction site settings; regularly lift and carry 50lbs 100 yards regularly.
• Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts to assist with moving large items.
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
• Excellent customer service skills, including strong verbal communication.
